The 5 best traditional restaurants in Vienna
When you are in Vienna you will be able to enjoy a wide range of restaurants. You will realize soon that food is rather cheap, but drinks are more expenisve.
Please note that we don't have the culture of getting a refill or free tap water. You will get a glas of tap water served with your coffee or a glas of wine for free.
Other than that, they will charge you or might be rude...

Please don't be scared to leave the 1st district where most hotels are located. Vienna is a very safe city and there are no NO-GO-areas.
We know how difficult it is to find good restaurants abroad. Therefore, we have 5 recommendations of typical Viennese restaurants where we have enjoyed great nights and we hope you will also do :-)
Call for reservations ahead and don't be shy! Most of the Austrians are happy to speak English with you.
GEORGINA in the 1st district! This is hidden gem in a very small street close to the Burgtheater.
REBHUHN in the 9th district is only a 20 min walk away from the city center. Enjoy a beautiful old restaurant with the best Wiener Schnitzel in town.
WOLF has a great traditional kitchen and beautiful old restaurant in the 4th district.
FEINKOSTEREI is a newly opened restaurant in the 1st district which concentrates on traditional Austrian dishes, but sereved Tapas style. We really enjoyed the small portions.
SCHILLING is actually the name of our old currency (before the Euro) and also this place is a good time travel to the past.
Enjoy your time in Vienna! If you want learn more about Austrian cuisine, we would be happy to welcome you in one of our cooking classes or on a Food Safari.
